Tips & Tricks: Enable Document Viewer

[Madrid] Use Document Viewer to view documents directly within the platform rather than downloading them to their own file system.

 


Before you begin

Role required: admin

 

About this task

Enable Document Viewer at the instance level and the table level so your users can open file attachments without downloading them.

 

Procedure

  1. Navigate to System Definition→ Plugins.

  2. Enter Document Viewer (com.snc.documentviewer) in the Search field.

  3. Click Install.

  4. In the Activate Plugin window, click Activate.

 

Note: To fully enable the Document Viewer feature, you must configure it at the table level for users to view the documents attached to the records in that table.

1. To configure Document Viewer at the table level, navigate to System Definition → Dictionary.

 

2. Open the desired table and click New under the Attributes

 

3. Enter Use Document Viewerin the Attribute

 

4. Enter True in the Valuefield

 

 

 

5.Click Submit.

Document Viewer is enabled at the instance level and the table level for all of the tables that you configure.
